Kit Harrington Outside of Game of Thrones

“Game of Thrones has been a massive hit. It is no wonder why its headliners have become huge stars in the process. Kit Harington is one of those stars, and since his appearance as Jon Snow, he has gained so much attention publicly that Hollywood has been snapping every chance they could get to make him part of their production. Having said that, he is mostly known for his work in GoT, but there are other works that he has been credited in.

Kit Harrington Outside of Game of Thrones

1. Pompeii

Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, it follows Kit Harington who plays Milo, the lead character, who is a slave-turned-gladiator in race against time to save his true love as the Pompeii slowly disintegrates around them.

Most would say that it was a flop, but you cannot argue that what they created has an air of authenticity that is rare in movies nowadays especially in an age of technology-driven movies.

2. How to Train Your Dragon 2

Harington voiced Eret in the movie. He was a dragon trapper who worked against the protagonist, and in true redeem story fashion, traded that life when he found the goodness in dragons and sided with Hiccup and Toothless. It is a classic second movie of series greatness and received many critical acclaims as well as positive reviews from the public.

He reprised his role in the third installment.

3. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Moving out of the limelight, but builds upon his performance as a voice actor, Harington also dabbed in voicing video game characters. In here, we see him do so with Admiral Salen Kotch. This game lets us go back to the roots of the franchise where a huge war meshes with immersive storytelling, and there is no better way to test the waters than being part of a beloved franchise.

4. Spooks: The Greater Good

Another movie that he headlines, Kit stars as Will Holloway who was forced back into the service to help Harry Pearce, a discgraced MI5 intelligence officer, to stop an imminent attack in London as a terrorist escapes after a supposedly routine handover.

5. Zog (TV Movie)

This follows an accident-prone dragon learn to become a proper one and does so in Dragon School. Kit Harington plays Sir Gadabout, who initially wanted to slay the dragon, and later on became someone who helped it in its quest.
It is a movie for children, which was aired in BBC One. A good way to spend weekends lazing around.

6. Gunpowder

Another BBC One production which was also aired in HBO, this follows a group of disenchanted Catholics who planned to blow up the House of Commons and killing King James with it. Essentially, it is a re-telling of the story of Guy Fawkes. Although, that was not Kit’s role, his character Robert Catesby played a significant role in it.

Kit has long developed a career outside Game of Thrones, and some may have already known about it; but truly, some of you may have not. Compounded with off-screen work, to describe his career as versatile is the least of it.
