We tend to look up to our favorite celebs, but even celebrities can be caught on the wrong side of the law. These famous movie stars got arrested for insane crimes, and they have a mugshot to match.
Of course, Elvis’ mugshot is as fabulous as he was. What more would you expect from the King? In 1956, Elvis Presley was arrested for assaulting a gas station attendant. According to reports, the man had simply asked Presley to move out of the way and lightly slapped Elvis on the head before Elvis returned the favor with a punch. The police were called, and Elvis was forced to pay a $15 fine. The attendant was fined $25 for starting the fight.

There are certain ways to behave when you’ve been arrested – and we’re assuming sticking your tongue out during your mugshot isn’t exactly what the police want from you. But this is Mike Tyson we’re talking about, this boxer and actor doesn’t play by the rules. Tyson was arrested in 2006 for driving under the influence and the possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to 24 hours in jail, as well as 360 hours of community service. He later checked into rehab.
Macaulay Culkin rose to fame as a child star as a kid up to no good in the Home Alone movies – but it seems he’s still up to no good as an adult. In 2004, Culkin was arrested for the possession of unprescribed Xanax and sleeping pills, as well as the possession of Marijuana. He was initially arrested and placed on a $4000 bond, but the charges were dropped after Culkin agreed to complete the probationary requirements and took a drug test.
We all love a bit of Matthew McConaughey – and weirdly, this mugshot is still rather flattering. Matthew was arrested in 1999 after a neighbor reported him to the police. He was found in possession of drug paraphernalia as well as marijuana. The police in attendance found Matthew in his home, playing the bongos and dancing around – in the nude. He was taken to the station (hopefully fully clothed) and fined $50 for the noise disturbance. Well, it’s a story to tell the grandkids…
It’s no secret that everyone’s favorite teen star, Amanda Bynes has had a bit of a rough time with it, especially from the media; from her mental health to her struggle with drug addiction and a rocky relationship with her parents. She was first arrested in 2013 after throwing drug paraphernalia from the window of her New York apartment and for reckless endangerment. Because of her mental health, she was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, and the case was dropped.
Actor Chris Klein is most known for his role in American Pie as Chris ‘Oz’ Ostreicher with his wild party ways – and it seems the actor doesn’t fall too far from the tree. In 2007, Paris Hilton was arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving after she was stopped by police. Okay, as far as mugshots go, this is how you take them. Despite being arrested, Grant looks as cool as ever with his dashing good looks. However, we can’t say as much for his charges. He was arrested in 1995 for lewd behavior in public as well as attempting to solicit a prostitute. He was ordered to pay a $1,180 fine, was sentenced to two years probation, and was asked to take part in an AIDS educational program.

What would Neo have done?
Popular Hollywood actor, Matt Dillon was arrested on New Year’s Day in 2009 for speeding – after he was recorded driving at 106mph, 50mph over the national speed limit. Okay, we hate to say it…but this is our favorite mugshot ever. Although we don’t like the circumstances around it. Slater was arrested in 1994 after he attempted to board a plane with a 9mm pistol in his suitcase. Which, obviously, is not the kind of thing you can take on a plane. After this, he was also arrested for assault, battery and the possession of drugs. We don’t know if we can call you one of Robin Hood’s merry men after that, Slater…
Haley Joel Osmont
Despite the fact he had just been arrested, Haley Joel Osmont still looks like the child star we all know and love. The Sixth Sense actor was arrested in 2006 for driving under the influence, crashing his car and possessing Marijuana. Emmy-award winning actress, Jaime Pressly looks a bit worse for wear in her 2011 mugshot. Did you ever think Buzz Lightyear could put a foot (or wing) wrong? Well, apparently he can. In 1978, Tim Allen was arrested at an airport after attempting to board a flight with over 1.4 pounds (or 650 grams) of cocaine on his person. Considering he’s just been arrested, Sin City actor, Mickey Rourke looks pretty pleased with himself. Rourke was arrested back in 2007 after driving recklessly on his Vespa and making illegal turns. We absolutely loved Joshua Jackson on Dawson’s Creek, but we have to be honest – he looks a bit haggard in this mugshot. Jackson was arrested in 2002 and charged with assault after he drunkenly attacked a member of the security team at a hockey match for the Carolina Hurricanes. After he was taken to the station, he was tested for his blood alcohol limit, and he was nearly double the legal amount. He was released on bail after he sobered up.
Shia LaBeouf has made quite a name for himself for doing whatever the heck he wants and standing up for what he believes in, which has often landed himself in trouble with the law (many, many times). His most famous mugshot was this one – after he was arrested for assaulting a member of the public during an anti-Trump march in New York in 2017. After being taken to the station, he was eventually released. Shia live-streamed the whole event and the arrest online.
Dennis Hoppe was one of the most talented men in Hollywood – known for his acting, his filmmaking, his photography and his art. And also his arrest. The 39-year-old managed to get away with just a fine after he pleaded guilty to the crime.
Okay, we have a real soft spot for Kiefer Sutherland, but he’s had more DUI’s than we’ve had hot dinners. Over the course of his life, he has been charged with driving under the influence four times, including this time in 2007, where he stopped for reckless driving and found that he was well over the legal alcohol limit. He was taken to the station where he posed for this smoldering mugshot and was sentenced to 48 days in jail.
Zsa Zsa Gabor
Hungarian-American Zsa Zsa Gabor was one of the most influential actresses, models, and socialites – and was even crowned Miss Hungary in 1936. But she was also shrouded in drama. He was arrested and taken to the station, where he took this incredibly serious mugshot. He was then kept detained in a detention center until he went to court.

Al Pacino is one of the biggest household names in Hollywood. But before he made it big time, he had a few run-ins with the law. In 1961, Pacino was arrested on Rhode Island after he and his friends were driving around the island with masks on. And it didn’t stop there, Pacino was also packing a loaded .38 gun in the trunk of the car – so he and his friends were charged with the possession of a concealed weapon and spent three days locked up in a cell after they could not afford the $2000 bail.
Tara Patrick, more commonly known as Carmen Electra, is known for her work as an actress, singer, model, and dancer. She first gained real international fame in the hit TV show starring David Hasselhoff and some small swimsuits, Baywatch. Robert Downey Jr.
Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. is known for his colored past. His father struggled his whole life with drug addiction and had no qualms about letting his 6-year-old son smoke marijuana. From here, his addiction spiraled, and in 1998, Downey Jr. was found aimlessly wandering a back alley under the influence of narcotics. He was taken to the station and was not charged. However, he was fired from ‘Ally McBeal’ which would have been a tough blow for any up-and-coming actor.
Everyone loves Woody Harrelson, right? And you kinda can’t not love this mugshot either. Despite being incarcerated, he still looks pretty fiiiiiine. He was arrested and taken to an Ohio Police station where he was charged with disturbing the peace. However, he avoided jail time after he paid a fine.
Surprise, surprise – we bet you knew Charlie Sheen would appear on this list sooner or later. Sheen was arrested in 2009 on a domestic violence charge, a felony assault, and a misdemeanor. He was sent before the district court judge before he was posted with a $8500 bond.
The teen heartthrob, Justin Bieber, has been getting himself into quite a bit of trouble the last few years. In this particular instance in 2014, Justin was caught driving under the influence, resisting arrest, drag racing, driving with an expired license, and underage drinking in Miami, Florida. We know, that’s quite a long list of crimes, but he didn’t seem too swayed by it, according to his big happy smile in his mugshot.
American actress, political activist, writer, and fitness guru Jane Fonda hasn’t been shy over the course of her 50+ year career and has always stuck up for what she believed in – which you can tell in this defiant mugshot!
