Robert Rodriguez Up For Working on Alita 2 If It Gets Greenlit

When James Cameron finally decided to hand off his pet project about an adaptation of the Manga comic ‘Battle Angel Alita,’ he gave it to the accomplished and proven Robert Rodriguez. The director went to work fixing the script and then went on ahead to bring the project to life on the big screen. Judging from how big the universe can potentially become and the fact that it ended on a cliffhanger is reason enough to believe that we have not seen the last of Alita.

The prospect of a sequel is something that Rodriguez has expressed interest in coming back to work on. When asked, he said that he would love to come back and do it. He said that the first one was so fun, Rosa gave a great performance and the geniuses at WETA special effects are the best. He confirmed that it would be easy to come up with a second story. After working with Jim, he saw how the iconic director crafts his movies and he is confident that they can make another one easily.

It is obvious that Rodriguez really had a great time making the first movie and he would be happy to do it again. Rosa Salazar was great as the lead character and working with James Cameron again would be an honor. He added something else to the mix about a second movie. They would be making it at a time when the technology has gone to the next level and it would be more breathtaking than the first one.

Alita: Battle Angel was awesome to say the least and with the CGI going from the level it is to an even higher one, WETA will be able to make even more exciting CGI for the audience. It would be the same world but better.

Even if there is no sequel, we know that Robert Rodriguez is grateful for all the work that went into making the first movie what it was. It was a rewarding experience as he tells it and it was an opportunity to learn from James Cameron himself.
If the movie ever gets a sequel, there are so many directions that Alita 2 could take and it would be easy to figure it out because James Cameron has notes full of ideas about what could happen after the first movie.

The Mouse will decided what happens next now that Disney owns Fox. We know that Disney loves franchises and they just might give us a sequel to this one. They gave James Cameron four sequels to ‘Avatar.’ Maybe they will invest in more Alita. For now, we can only speculate what the future might have for this promising property.
If they do, they can count on Robert Rodriguez to show up and take the helm again. From what we have gathered, Alita: Battle Angel will arrive on digital on July 9 and Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on July 23. We can’t wait to see it again, at home this time.
