Richard Dreyfuss as Steve Bolander
In 1973, Richard Dreyfuss starred in American Graffiti as Steve Bolander. As he finishes High School and works out where he’s going next, we join Steve on his final night before college, flying cross country for a new start. We enjoy his nostalgic look back, sharing in his what if’s and who knows, and feeling all the feels right along with him as he works through his teenage angst and finally accepts what lies ahead.

After American Graffiti, Dreyfuss became a household name, starring in Jaws, Stand by Me, and even winning an Academy Award for Best Actor for Goodbye Girl in 1977. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and is still working in the industry even now at the age of 70, recently taking the part of Bernie Madoff in the miniseries which also starred Blythe Danner. He is in the middle of filming for a new movie, The Last Laugh due out this year.
Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson
In 1984, the gorgeous Heather Langenkamp scared the world silly in the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street. Everyone thought she was mad to go up against the likes of Freddy Krueger, especially without any diaries or past victims to learn from. She is well known as one of the most famous teens in the world of cinema, but what happened next for her, and what is she doing now? Read on to find out.
Heather Langenkamp – now
As well as the sequel to Nightmare on Elm, Dream Warriors, Heather was then cast in two Wes Craven movies, and was then the producer and narrator for the documentary about the Elm films, called Never Sleep Again. She has been in plenty of movies as an adult too, including The Butterfly Room, Truth or Dare, and even portraying Nancy Kerrigan in the TV film about the skating scandal. She is married to David Leroy Anderson.
Patrick Dempsey as Ronald Miller
Before he ever picked up a scalpel, Partrick Dempsey was Ronald Miller in the 1987 cult classic Can’t Buy Me Love. He was way down the bottom of the food chain in terms of social skills, and he bought the time of Cindy, a popular cheerleader to be his girlfriend for one month for the bargain price of one thousand dollars! He showed everyone that there is a way to become a somebody in the dog eat dog high school world, and that even when your secrets get uncovered, there is a way back. One of our faves!
Patrick Dempsey – Now
Best known as Dr Derek Shepherd in the hit show Grey’s Anatomy, Dempsey is not as well known for his movies before the show, even though he’s had some high profile hits, like Can’t Buy Me Love and Sweet Home Alabama. Since he left Grey’s (we’re still crying) he has starred in Bridget Jones’ Baby, and spends his time auto racing and maintaining his sports car collection which is his true passion. He is married to Jillian Fink, and has three kids.
Deborah Foreman as Julie Richman
In 1983, the movie of the moment was Valley Girl, with Deborah Foreman as Julie, and Nicolas Cage as Randy. Cage played a punk kid from Hollywood, who Southern Californian Julie fell for, and hard. Her friends don’t approve, and she ends the fling, but will her heart ever recover? And will love find a way? We’ll let you watch it to find out the answers! Bet you can’t imagine what Deborah looks like now!
Deborah Foreman – now
Yikes. While some of the crushes on our list went on to lead amazing flourishing careers, Deborah Foreman is still best known for that teenage role. She did star in a few other movies over the next few years, mostly horror flicks which led to her being thought of as a scream queen. She mostly faded from the public eye however, most recently seen in the movie, Beautiful Loser back in 2007. Hey, at least she got to act with Nicolas Cage.
Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz
Who hasn’t seen Clueless? It’s an iconic movie which any 90’s kid will remember and love. It coined phrases like ‘Whatever!’ and is a satire on all things American teen. Alicia Silverstone played the lead character of Cher Horowitz, but other careers were launched too, such as Paul Rudd who played Josh, and Brittany Murphy who played Tai. Donald Faison was also in the movie, who then went on to star in the hit show, Scrubs, as Turk.

After Clueless, Silverstone was cast as Batgirl in the huge movie Batman and Robin. She has had some bad luck in TV shows, with quite a few unaired pilots under her belt, as well as parts in shows which didn’t make it past the first half or full season. She now mostly works in theater, acting in plays on Broadway, and becoming a stage success. She is married to rock star Christopher Jarecki and the pair have a son together.
Seann William Scott as Steve Stifler
American Pie was a cult classic as soon as it came out, and Stifler is the character who people remember the best, even though he wasn’t the main role in the film. Mad about sex, and as crazy a young man as you could imagine, he is the ultimate frat boy, and hey, you only need to say Stifler’s Mom for that iconic scene to come to mind. The movie has lost none of it’s sheen, but what’s Seann William Scott up to since then?
Seann William Scott – Now
As well as American Pie, Seann William Scott is known for the Goon movies, as Doug Glatt, and some other frat movies like Dude, where’s my car? And The Dukes of Hazzard. His role as Stifler is still definitely his biggest success, and we don’t see a lot of him any more on TV or the big screen! His personal life is also a little hazy, with his engagement to Lindsay Frimdt, the popular model, called off after just under a year.
Jason London as Randall ‘Pink’ Floyd
A football player, and an all round popular kid, Jason London played Randall Floyd, nicknamed Pink and one of the cool members of his social circle. However, he decided to give it all up to follow what his heart was telling him, creating a story that once seen, can never be forgotten. Dazed and Confused was the break out hit of 1993, and although we won’t offer any spoilers, is totally unmissable if you haven’t seen it.
Jason London – Now
You might think that you’ve seen Jason in more than he has actually appeared in, as his identical twin brother Jeremy is also an actor! They even appeared together in 7th Heaven, and Jeremy has been Jason’s stunt double as well, in the movie Man in the Moon which was made in 1991. His role as Floyd was his most famous part to date, and he was also once married to Charlie Sprading, although they split up in 2006.
Jason Schwartzman as Max Fischer
If you haven’t recognized yourself in some of the behaviour of Max Fischer in the 1998 movie Rushmore, were you ever even a teenager? He fell hard for the one woman he couldn’t have, and kept his life secret from all of his friends. Eventually, his snobbish ways came back to bite him, and luckily, he still managed to sort his life out to the straight and narrow in the end. A heart-warming story with a lesson for all of us.

A great duo with the one and only Wes Anderson, Schwartzman is known for his Anderson movies, from Rushmore itself, to Fantastic Mr Fox and Moonrise Kingdom. He has also been in plenty of other movies since he was a kid, as well as the HBO TV show, Bored to Death from 2009-2011. He is married to Brady Cunningham and the pair have two kids. Fun fact? Schwartzman is cousins with another famous Hollywood face… Nicolas Cage!
Leonardo DiCaprio as Jim Carroll
In the Basketball Diaries, we see young Leo showing us that you can always change your destiny with enough drive and determination. A basketball natural, he gets swept up in the world of illegal drugs, and starts risking his entire life to stay high. He loses it all, and then begins the long road back to recovery. With Leonardo DiCaprio, we’re always hooked from minute one, and back then in 1995, things were no different.

Leonardo DiCaprio is now one of the biggest Hollywood actors in the world. He has starred in huge films from Titanic, to Inception and beyond. He is also a huge activist for environmental issues, and the founder of his own production company. He won an Academy Award for best actor for his lead role in The Revenant, as well as a Golden Glove for best Actor in The Wolf of Wall Street. Sissy Spacek as Carrie White
Sissy Spacek is iconic in her role as Carrie White in the film Carrie back in 1976. Carrie was the socially awkward girl we all have been in life, but with insane powers which got her own back on the people who treated her badly. This is the role that Sissy Spacek is best known for, but what did she do next, and did she reach the heights of Carrie again in her career? Or was this the pinnacle, with the only way down?

For her role as Carrie, Spacek got an Oscar nomination, which was highly unusual for horror movies. She was then in the 1980 movie Coal Miner’s Daughter, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress. Her later movies also had huge critical acclaim, including In The Bedroom, JFK, and The Help. She was in the show Bloodline which was a thriller on Netflix, until it was cancelled after three seasons last year.
Elisabeth Shue as Chris Parker
Remember this movie, Adventures in Babysitting? Chris Parker was played by the amazing Elisabeth Shue, where we watch her and the three kids she’s babysitting run to downtown Chicago to a friend in need. Crazy happenings occur, from a almost fall from a skyscraper, to run ins with bad guys, parents and more! A fun family movie, and one that Elisabeth Shue certainly shone in for the world to see.

Elisabeth Shue is a household name in movie and TV. Best known for some of her famous movies like Leaving Las Vegas, The Saint, and Cocktail, she is also famous for taking the part of Julie Finlay in CSI, between 2012 and 2015. She has been married to David Guggenheim since the 90’s, and the couple have three kids together. In the upcoming movie Death Wish, she will once again play opposite Vincent D’Onofrio, who was in Babysitting with her.
John Travolta as Danny Zuko
Grease is the word…. And it was the movie that no one could stop talking about! Starring John Travolta as Danny Zuko opposite his Sandy, Olivia Newton John, Grease is still a sensation the world over, both the film, and the stage production too. Danny Zuko fell for the girl who was from the other side of the tracks, but eventually they learned to compromise with one another, singing you’re the one that I want throughout the school carnival.
John Travolta – Now
While Olivia Newton John is still best known for being Sandy, John Travolta is one of the most recognized names and faces in the movie industry, acting singing and dancing in productions such as Saturday Night Fever, Hairspray, and movies such as Pulp Fiction. He was most recently in the hit show The People vs OJ Simpson, for which he got both Emmy and Golden Glove nominations. He is an active scientologist, a pilot, and a philanthropist.
Jeff Bridges as Duane Jackson
Duane is shown to us as a high school football player who loses the last game he ever plays. He then watches his life change immeasurably, with everything crumbling around him. His girlfriend leaves him, his friend dies, and then another friend starts dating his ex. He grows up with the viewer in the hardest year of his life. If you haven’t seen Jeff Bridges hit the ground running in The Last Picture Show, head back to 1971 and make sure you do.

A multiple award winning actor, including the winner of the Academy Award for Best Actor in the movie Crazy Heart opposite Maggie Gyllenhall, Jeff Bridges is one of the most talented actors working today. He comes from an acting family, his father was Lloyd Bridges and his brother is Beau Bridges. He is married to Susan Geston and the couple have three kids together. He was in three movies last year, including The Only Living Boy in New York, where he played W.F Gerald. He is also a musician, as you can see in Crazy Heart.
Lucy Boynton as Raphina
Our most recent icon, Lucy Boynton was Raphina in the 2016 movie Sing Street. As an orphan, she is downtrodden and alone, although she has supreme talent and knows that she can use this to rise to the top. It’s a gorgeous story of never giving up hope even when it seems like the world is not on your side. Travel, romance and adventure all lie in wait for Raphina in this incredible story that Lucy manages to tell with such style and grace.
Lucy Boynton – Now
Born in New York, but growing up in London, Lucy is an accomplished actress who is still finding her feet. Her debut movie was Miss Potter, and since Sing Street she has had a handful of other roles as well. She has most recently been working on her part as Mary Austin, the love interest of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, about the icon and his band. Look out for that later in 2018. She is also known as Allison Adams in Gypsy, the Netflix original.
C. Thomas Howell as Ponyboy Curtis
In the movie The Outsiders, C Thomas Howell played his part as Ponyboy Curtis so well that he would end up winning a Young Artists Award for his talent and hard work. He was a character ahead of his time, and even in 1983 when the film was made, the storylines of trying to pull down boundaries which exist in society was painfully accurate for what was happening off screen. But what’s he been up to since then?
C Thomas Howell – Now
This wasn’t the only time that C Thomas Howell would act with Patrick Swayze. The pair collaborated on Grandview, as well as Red Dawn. He was even in the running to play Marty McFly in Back to the Future! He is known as both an actor and a director, and is never short of work, with three movies currently post production, and an amazing nine films with him as an actor in 2017. He is married to Sylvie Anderson.
Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker
Everyone knows the story of Luke Skywalker, who grew up on a farm and just wanted more from his life. Looking out onto the desert sands, he dreamed big, and boy- did he get it! He went following adventure wherever it would take him, and ended up being one of the most famous characters in the world, sorry, we mean the galaxy! But although Mark Hamil landed the role of a lifetime, did this launch his career to super stardom as well?

Mark Hamil was iconic as Luke Skywalker, and truthfully, this is the role he is still best known for. He is well loved as Skywalker, and often does related appearances, such as comic con or voice over work. He has co-authored The Black Pearl, which is a graphic novel miniseries, and he has also been seen as other roles in movies and TV, such as an animated adaptation as the Batman character, the Joker.
Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso
Ralph played Daniel LaRusso in the Karate Kid, the famous 1984 movie which is now a cult sensation. He wouldn’t let anyone push him around, despite being new in town and plagued by rough members of his school. He trained, he learned the skills of karate, and he absolutely got his own back, fair and square in a tournament none the less! An inspiration to all kids who feel like the underdog, Daniel showed the right way to fight back.
Ralph Macchio – Now
Ralph Macchio has come a long way since the Karate Kid. Most recently, you may have seen him competing on Dancing with the Stars, as well as acting in The Outsiders as Johnny Cade. Karate Kid fans should get excited, as he is reviving his role as Danny in a 30 minute, ten part Karate Kid revival on YouTube Red, later in 2018. It’s set thirty years later, and personally we can’t wait! Macchio is married to Phyllis Fierro, who is a nurse.
Lindsay Lohan as Cady Heron
Mean Girls was a sensation when it came out in 2004, and it seemed like Lindsay Lohan was heading for the stars with her portrayal of Cady Heron, the shy girl who joins an American high school for the first time and gets swept up in teen drama galore. The movie launched some careers, including Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried, but did it do the same thing for the child star who we remember from Parent Trap?

Lindsay has had a tough time of it, being in the media spotlight for drugs, addiction, crazy partying and being unreliable and toxic to the movie industry. But sources close to her say that she’s in a much better place now, living in London and having even found love! She has taken a break from the entertainment industry, but will be back in 2018 on the Sky One series Sick Note, and she has also tried out theater, in the production Speed-the-Plow.
