Actress and singer, Anna Kendrick was born on August 9, 1985, in Portland. Her mother (Janice Kendrick) worked as an accountant and her father (William Kendrick) as a history teacher, and she has an older brother (Michael Cooke Kendrick ) who is also an actor. From an early age, Anna expressed an interest in acting and performing, and landed herself a role in the Broadway production of ‘High Society’ at just thirteen years old, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award – the second youngest person ever to be nominated for such an accolade. After a successful Broadway run, Anna Kendrick made her debut into the world of film in 2003, where she starred in the hit comedy musical, Camp. After this prolific debut, Kendrick appeared as a supporting role in the popular vampire-series, The Twilight Saga, before her life-changing role in Up In The Air. This performance in the comedy-drama led to multiple award nominations as a supporting actress – including an Academy Award nomination, a Golden Globe nomination, and a BAFTA Award nomination. As her career seemed to skyrocket even further into the Hollywood ethers, she was awarded the main protagonist role in the hugely popular musical comedy, Pitch Perfect (2012) as well as the Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) sequel and the upcoming Pitch Perfect 3 (2017).
