Brian O’Halloran Biography:

O’Halloran was originally born in Manhattan, New York, but his family moved to New Jersey when he was 13-years-old. His father was an automotive engineer, and Brian wanted to go down this career path when he was younger. At the age of 15 his father sadly passed away, and this caused O’Halloran to rethink his life and career goals. It was at this point he made the decision that he wanted to become an actor. In high school, he was active in performing arts, and a member of the theater club.

It was while in New Jersey that O’Halloran met filmmaker Kevin Smith, and the two became friends. When Smith came back from film school and decided to make his debut feature, Clerks, he offered O’Halloran the lead role. This led to a successful working relationship between the two. O’Halloran appeared in several films by Smith, including Mallrats (1995), Dogma (1999), and Clerks II (2006). Following the success of Clerks, O’Halloran began a long and fruitful career in theater, working with the Boomerang Theater Company, and the New Jersey Repertory Company.

In recent times, O’Halloran has only worked sporadically in film and television. He had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role in The Happening (2008), and an appearance in Hooking Up (2008). In 2000 he also starred in the black comedy/horror movie Vulgar (2000). He will appear in the TV show MallBrats, a spin-off to Smith’s 1995 movie Mallrats.
