Emile Davenport Hirsch was born on March 13, 1985, in Palms, California to his mother (Margaret Esther) who worked as a visual artist and his father (David M. Hirsch) who worked as a project manager and producer. Hirsch was first introduced into the world of acting at school, where he undertook drama lessons and soon found a hidden talent and passion. After pursuing his dream from a young age, Hirsch managed to land himself his first professional and paid acting role at the age of 11 when he appeared in an episode of the 1996 Kindred: The Embraced. After this debut, Hirsch continued to work in small roles with the likes of Wild Iris (2001), The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (2002) and The Emperor’s Club (2002). As he reached the mid-2000s, Hirsch began to be recognized for his acting talent and began starring in larger roles – and received his breakout role in the popular teen comedy movie, The Girl Next Door (2004). Three years later, Hirsch was cast in a leading role that would change the course of his career, where he starred as Christopher McCandless in Into The Wild (2007). This role won him numerous nominations and award wins, as he steered the movie into popularity and it soon became a huge success. After this career-defining role, Hirsch has skyrocketed into the public eye and has become a household name in the world of acting. He has since starred in the likes of Milk (2008), Lone Survivor (2013), Venuto al Mondo (2012) and will star in the upcoming 2017 movie, An Evening With Beverly Luff Lin.
