Hailee Steinfeld Biography:

Hailee Steinfeld was born in 1996 in Los Angeles, to Cheri (an interior designer), and Peter (a personal trainer). Hailee caught the acting bug at the age of just 8 when she saw her cousin, True O’Brien, appear in a commercial. After attending Ascension Lutheran School and Colina Middle School, Steinfeld was home-schooled for 7 years until her graduation from high school. During this time she had already begun acting in film and television.

After earning critical acclaim for her role in the award-winning short film She’s a Fox (2013), Steinfeld took Hollywood by storm when she was chosen for the role of Mattie Ross in the Coen Brothers’ remake of True Grit (2010). The performance earned her an Academy Award nomination and launched her career as a Hollywood rising star. After a break from films, she returned with a role in the science-fiction movie Ender’s Game (2013).

She then went down the route of choosing more independent movies, such as 3 Days to Kill (2014), Hateship Loveship (2013), and Barely Lethal (2015). Further critical acclaimed followed last year, as Steinfeld took the lead role in teen drama The Edge of Seventeen (2016). She received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

In addition to acting, Seinfeld is also a singer; appearing in Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) she showcased vocal talents. She also released a record called Haiz in 2015, which was successful in the United States.
