Jennifer Lynn Connelly was born on December 12, 1970, in Cairo, New York – which is located in the Catskill Mountains. As a young girl, Connelly was sent to Saint Ann’s Private School in Brooklyn Heights, which was an esteemed educational establishment that specializes in the Arts. At the age of just ten years old, a family friend suggested that she create a portfolio to become a model, and she soon began modeling for advertising, print and television commercials. After becoming increasingly popular in the public eye, Jennifer’s mother began to take her to acting auditions – which is where she gained the part in Sergio Leone’s Once Upon A Time in America. This movie exposure meant her name soon became part of the acting circuit and resulted in her debut leading role in the 1985 movie, Phenomena, as well as the movie, Seven Minutes in Heaven. The next year, Connelly managed to land herself a role alongside David Bowie in the hit movie, Labyrinth which has since become a cult classic in the last few years. As she got older, Connelly found herself being thrown into the world of acting and decided to take a short break to attend Yale and Stanford University to study drama. However, after completing one year, she dropped out and decided to pursue her film career once more. In the early 2000s, Connelly’s movie career really took off, and she appeared in Pollock (2001), Requiem for a Dream (2000), and A Beautiful Mind (2001) which earned her numerous award nominations. Since then, she has appeared in Hulk (2003), Dark Water (2005), Blood Diamond (2006) and Noah (2014).
