Nicole Scherzinger Biography:
Scherzinger was born into a Catholic family in Hawaii, and her parents separated when she was a baby. As a child, the family moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where she attended Bowen Elementary School. Later she went to Meyzeek Middle School where her love of performing arts grew. She even wound up joining the Youth Performing Arts School and performing with the Actors Theatre of Louisville. She went to University, majoring in theater arts, and minoring in dance. At 21 she was hired to contribute vocals for the band Days of the New.
This would mark the beginning of a hugely successful musical career for Scherzinger. She quit the band two years later and auditioned for TV talent show Popstars. She was successful and formed the group Eden’s Crush, who released one record before disbanding. Nicole pursued a solo career, and also had a cameo in the movie Love Don’t Cost a Thing (2003). After impressing Will.i.am and Jimmy Iovine, Scherzinger became lead vocalist of the group The Pussycat Dolls.
After two hugely successful records, The Pussycat Dolls split in 2010, amid rumors of infighting. Scherzinger pursued a solo career and has released two records so far. She has also had a strong acting career, appearing in episodes of TV shows such as How I Met Your Mother, My Wife and Kids, and working as a judge on The X Factor. She also took a voice role in the successful Disney animated movie Moana (2016).
