Tony Moran Biography:

Born in Burbank, California, in August 1957, Anthony Moran grew up with an interest in acting. From a young age, he made the decision that he wanted to perform, but struggled to make an impact. In fact, after leaving school and working odd jobs, he found a home performing as a street actor on Hollywood and Vine, playing the part of Frankenstein’s monster. But, things to an upward turn for Tony in 1978, when he went to audition for a part in a small horror film.

That film turned out to be Halloween (1978), and the part Moran auditioned for was that of antagonist Michael Myers. After meeting with writer-director John Carpenter, Moran wound up snagging the role as the unmasked Michael (Nick Castle played the part with the mask on) but didn’t return for any sequels. Moran received around $250 for his part in the film, a salary that today would clock in at close to $1,000. After his role in Halloween, Moran made appearances in The Waltons and CHiPs before quitting acting.

He decided to quit acting in 1981, and became a mortgage broker, before finally returning to acting in 2008. His first role back was in a short film called The Lucky Break (2008), he also starred in, and produced, the movie Beg (2011). Aside from acting, Moran has appeared at several Halloween conventions, and had a sister, Erin, who starred in Happy Days!
