Vince Vaughn Biography Synopsis:
Vince Vaughn was born in Minnesota to an estate agent and stockbroker mother (Sharon), and toy salesman father (Vernon). His parents divorced in 1991 when Vaughn was 21-years-old. Vaughn is of Syrian and Italian descent, and he has two sisters, Victoria and Valerie. As a kid, Vince played football and basketball, as well as amateur wrestling. After graduating Lake Forest High School, he decided to pursue his passion and become an actor.
He scooped an early role in a Chevrolet TV commercial, before moving to Tinseltown. With some modest success in TV, Vaughn harbored ambitions of big screen success and looked for big breaks in the movies. His first film role was on the movie Rudy (1993). It was here he met long-time friend Jon Favreau, and the two decided to make the film Swingers (1996). The film was a critical success and led to Steven Spielberg offering him a role in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997).
This exposure catapulted Vaughn into the big leagues, and he grabbed his chance with both hands. After an ill-advised Psycho (1998) remake, he finally landed on his feet with the comedy genre. Queue a slew of hits such as Old School (2003), Starsky & Hutch (2004), Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), and Wedding Crashers (2005).
In addition to becoming a comedy heavyweight in Hollywood, Vaughn has also recently tried his hand at drama roles. In 2015 he was one of the stars of the second season of anthology crime show True Detective. Vaughn has been married to Kyla Weber since 2010, and they have two children together.
