Recent Dancing With the Stars Changes
Season 31 of Dancing With the Stars is set to air this fall. Earlier this year, ABC announced that this long-running TV series will be moving to Disney +. This makes it the first live program of this particular streamer. The other big change that was recently announced is that the stunning Tyra Banks will be joined on the show by a new co-host. This will be none other than Alfonso Ribeiro, famously known for his role as Carlton in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!
A Balance Duo of Hosts
Tyra took over the role of show host from Tom Bergeron in 2020. Her bombastic and energetic hosting style is always exciting to watch. Alfonso, on the other hand, is known for a much calmer and more predictable demeanor. On paper, this should bring a great balance between the hosts and make this duo an absolute win. This won’t be Ribeiro’s first time on the Dancing With the Stars stage. He competed and won the Mirrorball Trophy in 2014 and once stepped in as host to briefly fill in for Tom.
Ribeiro Shares Excitement Over the New Opportunity
In an interview with People, Ribeiro shared his excitement over being chosen as a co-host for this show. He looks forward to being part of that family again because he remained good friends with many of the dancers and crew working on the show. What’s more, he explained that he and Tyra go way back, as her first acting job was on the famous ’90s sitcom, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He hopes that his and Tyra’s long-lasting friendship will resonate with the viewers.
