Amazing TV Shows That Were Cancelled Way Too Soon

We all love getting addicted to a great TV show. But what happens when that show gets cancelled way to early? It’s seriously devastating. We’ve created a list of amazing TV shows that got cancelled way too soon. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t watch them. In fact you should because they are all fantastic and just because they didn’t have a satisfying end doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get the chance to experience their beauty.

Freaks and Geeks

Freaks and Geeks was a teenage comedy drama created in the 1990’s. It starred several, now, big time actors like James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel and Lind Cardellini. The show took place in a small suburban neighborhood and followed the life of high schooler Lindsay Weir. She’s extremely smart but befriends a group of losers and “freaks” leading to her slacking off in school and causing her parents and teachers to think she is ruining her life. It’s something lots of teenagers go through and almost everyone who watches can relate to the pull of wanting to be a rebellious person. It was an amazing show however it only had 1 season due to its low audience ratings.

FlashForward was a sci-fi drama created in 2009. It centers around a mysterious event that causes everyone in the world to blackout for 2 minutes and 17 seconds on October 6, 2009. During this blackout, everyone is able to see approximately 6 months into their own future. The show follows several people in particular as they try to figure what caused the blackout as well as figuring out what their flashforwards mean. The show had 1 season with 2 parts before it was cancelled due to low audience viewings. Although it had many positive reviews and received many award nominations it wasn’t enough to keep the show going.

Pushing Daisies

Pushing Daisies was a beautifully creative fantasy mystery comedy-drama that was aired in 2007. The story followed the character Ned who was a pie-maker with the ability to touch things and bring them back to life. He and two other friends work together to solve murder cases. However, this is not without its consequences. Bringing back someone to life causes someone else to die and if he touches the resurrected dead person a second time they die permanently. Whimsical and heartfelt this show only lasted for 2 seasons before it was cancelled. It won 7 Emmy’s and had several positive critiques but it was still cancelled for some mysterious reason.

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is another whimsical sci-fi detective show that was aired in 2016. Based off of the books by Douglas Adams, creator of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the show follows detective Dirk Gently and his mission to solve cases through the interconnectedness of all things. Unlike other detectives who look for clues, Dirk waits for the Universe to take him where he needs to be. Hilarious and quirky this show only lasted for 2 seasons before it was cancelled due to low audience views. Although it had many positive reviews numbers seemed to dwindle between seasons 1 and 2 leading to its end. There are several petitions out there trying to get the show rebooted and with it’s presence on Netflix there is still a chance for season 3 to be created.

Dead Like Me

Dead Like Me is a wonderful comedy-drama that was aired in 2003. It looks at death in a more lighthearted comedic way. The show follows a girl George who dies and ends up becoming a Grim Reaper. She must collect the souls of people who have died in accidents and homicides, preferably right before they actually die. She must collect enough souls to reach her quota before she can move onto another realm. However, she has trouble with this as do her family who are all struggling with her death. It lasted 2 seasons before it was cancelled because ratings were not high enough for a third.
