What did you think of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad? It had a legendary trailer that hyped up everyone. However, the actual film had a mixed reception among critics and moviegoers.

‘Birds of Prey’: Here’s Why You Should Be Excited for Harley Quinn’s Return

Harley Quinn is Back

Look, hate on Suicide Squad all you want. You can laugh about Will Smith’s line, which is now a certified meme. But Harley Quinn was one of the better parts of that movie.

Soon after Suicide Squad debuted in cinemas, people began donning images of Harley Quinn as their profile picture. She was a certified star. People were wearing Harley Quinn costumes during Halloween and at comic conventions.

And what’s even more amazing is that Harley Quinn wasn’t originally a comic book character. People saw her first in Batman: The Animated Series way back in 1992. Batman fans loved her so much that she debuted in the comic books.

Plus, Margot Robbie plays the character. She’s not just a pretty face in Hollywood. Robbie has proven she’s one of the best after starring in The Wolf of Wall Street, Mary Queen Of Scots and I, Tonya.

More Badass Women

Aside from Quinn, you’ve got a bunch of awesome female characters in Birds of Prey. For one, we’ll get to see the feisty Huntress, who’s the child of a mafia gangster.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play the role of Huntress — and we can’t wait. From 10 Cloverfield Lane to Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Winstead can capture the crowd’s attention with ease.

Then there’s Black Canary. This character is Green Arrow’s romantic and professional partner. Likewise, she’s one of the first-ever superheroines in the DC universe.

More Badass Women

We get Rosa Marie Perez as detective Renee Montoya. Moreover, we have Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. If you don’t know who Cain in, she’s one of the women who became Batgirl in the Batman comics. As of 2016, her code name is Orphan.

Chaos and Sheer Fun

Here’s the thing: If Harley Quinn is in it, it’s going to be fun. There’s no way that Birds of Prey won’t have a ton of amazing action sequences. Thus, expect explosions and vibrant outfits.

Furthermore, the men here are set to make an impression as well. Argo actor Chris Messina will serve as the serial killer Victor Zsasz. As for Ewan McGregor, he’ll fill the role for the crime lord Black Mask.

Shazam was fun and had lessons for the family. Likewise, Joker was a serious character drama. As for Birds of Prey, it will have a mix of chaos, dark humor, and stunning performances across the board.

Chaos and Sheer Fun

We’re still a few months away from Birds of Prey. But fans will surely crowd the malls once it premieres on the 7th of February 2020. With Harley Quinn and the gang, the DC universe is in good hands.
