It’s 2020 – the year when your patience will finally pay off. You had better start finding someone to take to the theaters because the studios have fantastic stuff ahead for movie lovers. 2019 was the record-breaking year for movies because Endgame overtook the giant Avatar as the biggest movie of all-time. The Grudge (Release Date – January 3rd)
Prepare to start the year with an intriguing film about a house that was cursed by a ruthless demon that hits everyone that enters with a violent death. The movie is based on a Japanese edition that was produced in 2002. Its first American version was made in 2004, and it starred Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sarah Michelle. Grudge 2020 is likely to head into theaters with a tight R rating, which will give views a big thrill. While the film will feature entirely new characters, it will recall a few old scenes.
Underwater (Release date – January 10th)
If you thought you had seen everything, you haven’t watched a crew of underwater researchers scrambling to survive when an earthquake hits their laboratory. The science-fiction horror film will be hitting our screens this January. It will be starring Vincent Cassel, Kristen Stewart, Jessica Henwick, T.J. Miller, and Gallagher Jr. The film’s production ended in 2017, and we can’t wait to see what has been cooking all this while. When interviewed, Kristen Stewart said, “As much as you might be tempted to compare it to regular sci-fi thrillers, this one is different because it is dark. You will see how strangers react in the face of danger and death.”
Bad Boys for Life (Release date – January 17th)
Seventeen years after the launch of Bad Boys II, audiences will be glad to experience the re-entry of the buddy-cop franchise. Sonny will be gracing our screens with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith as the stars of the show. “Bad Boys for Life” has taken a while to get to the big screen, and some fans thought that the film would never happen. Luckily for us, we will be enjoying the movie in 2020!
Dolittle (Release date – January 17th)
What happens when a physician discovers that he can talk to animals? Dr. Dolittle was created by Hugh Lofting when he wrote letters to his kids at home in the heart of World War I. The character has become a star in several popular children’s books, and now Dr. Dolittle will be gracing our screens this January. The physician is returning with a few adaptations that will make him an overly interesting character.
Birds of Prey (Release date – February 7th)
“Birds of Prey” has been a well-known title in comics since 1996. There have been several alterations to the original character, and the newest will be gracing our screens this coming February. The film is centered on the concept of an American Superhero. It stars Mary Elizabeth, Margot Robbie, Rosie Perez, Ella Jay Basco, Ewan McGregor, and Chris Messina. I can’t wait for the colorful film to keep me intrigued and entertained on February 7th.
